ENRICHMENTS

PreSchool Opening

We have an immediate opening in our PreSchool program. If your child is 3 years old and you are looking for a great first school experience, this might be for you. The instructor, Diane Kubota, has been with us for 30 years and has a great reputation for working with this age group. The class meets from 9 – 11 am Tues and Thurs. Fee: $70/month.

To register, bring your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and first month’s fee to the Community Services office. Remember, only one spot is available.

Babysitting Class

Only a few days left to register –

Where: Reedley Community Center

When: Tuesday February 14th and Thursday February 16th

Time: 3:30-6:30 pm

Ages: 11-15

The purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitting training is to provide young people with the information and skills necessary to offer a safe and responsible environment for children in the absence of their parents or adult guardian. This training will help participants develop skills in leadership and professionalism, basic care, safe play and first aid. Students must be preregistered.

YOUTH SPORTS

Youth Baseball

Registration starts: January 9 – February 10 Price: $40

Late registration: February 13-17 Price: $45

Where: Reedley Community Center

Leagues are available for boys and girls ages 5-12. This league teaches the fundamentals of the game. Practices start in March and games are played in April and May. Volunteer coaches are needed.

Tiny Tots Baseball

New look to an existing program

Registration starts: January 9-February 10 Price: $45

Late registration: February 13-17 Price: $50

Where: Reedley Community Center

This program is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of the game, as well as building confidence and self esteem. In addition to the instructional clinics we have added team practices and games. Four actual games will be played.

League runs March-May. League is designed for ages 3-4 yrs. old.

Practices will be held in the evenings. Clinics and games will be on Saturdays. Players will receive a glove and league shirt. Volunteer Coaches needed.

Girls Softball

NEW PROGRAM

Registration: January 9 – February 10 Price: $45

Late Registration: February 13-17 Price: $50

Where: Reedley Community Center

The City of Reedley is partnering with Reedley High School to offer a recreational league for girls in grades 1st -5th. This league will utilize the skills of high school players mentoring the younger players. There will be instructional clinics, practices and games. League runs March-May.

ADULT SPORTS

Adult Basketball

Registration: January 2-27

Late Registration: January 30-February 3

Where: Reedley Community Center

Season: March – April

10 games scheduled and top teams advance to the playoffs. Mandatory managers meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 6:00pm at the Community Center.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Do you know a coach in one of our City of Reedley youth sports programs that goes beyond just teaching your child to play a sport? If so, you can nominate them to be our “Youth Sports Coach of the Year”. Take a few moments to review the attached Coach of the Year Guidelines and fill out the application to honor a special coach. The completed application can be emailed to sarah.reid@reedley.ca.gov or dropped off/mailed to the Community Services office (address below).
