Evita is a musical that tells the rags to riches to premature death story of Eva Peron, who captured the hearts of the people of Argentina as First Lady in the late 1940s. The music was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and the lyrics and book were written by Tim Rice. Evita was one of the most successful musicals of the late twentieth century, and won the Tony award for best musical in 1979. It’s currently being presented by the College of the Sequoias Performing Arts Department.

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change On Stage at the Reedley Opera House

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is one of the most honored musicals to ever run Off Broadway. In fact, it is the second longest running musical Off Broadway, and has garnered several prestigious awards. The book and lyrics were written by Joe DiPietra, and the music was written by Jimmy Roberts. The show is currently being performed by the River City Theater Company at the Reedley Opera House.

Neil Simon’s Fools On Stage at 2nd Space

Neil Simon is one of the best known and best loved American Playwrights in history. From Barefoot In The Park, to The Odd Couple, to The Goodbye Girl, he is as good as it gets. One of Simon’s lesser-known works, a play titled Fools is currently playing at the Good Company Player’s 2nd Space Theatre in Fresno through August 20.
