Many bands write about life experiences, past experiences, and the relationships you make along that path. River Blind does more than just that. They write songs about their journey in life and all the unexpected twists and turns that everyone experiences.

Ever since I was little, I’ve always loved music. Loved everything about it, from rock-n-roll, to country to indie, heavy metal, and classical, though rock is my passion. I always love finding new bands and seeing what I like most about their music. When I was asked to write about the Visalia band Pawn, I wasn’t sure what to expect, would they be classic rock, hard rock, metal, or something totally different?

As I sat to enjoy this year’s Reedley High School graduation, it was different for me this time. I wasn’t watching just as a journalist or a drama mom who knew these kids through RHS shows, I was watching as a mom. My daughter, Jessica, graduated this year and it was quite the different feeling.

This year, being a Drama kid and Drama club President, I was so excited when they announced the theme was “Old Hollywood”. Soon it went around campus that all the chaperones were going to be dressed up as “Old Hollywood” actors and actresses. I knew that Prom would be a night to remember. My friends and I planned the whole night, getting ready, dinner, and who was going to drive. We were so excited.

Enter for a chance to win a copy of Dead Love. Instructions at the end of this review.

What’s some of the few things that humankind has always fought and killed for? Money, power, and love of course. The battle of Troy was fought over a woman; men killed for her. Is it any different nowadays? Life isn’t complete unless you have something like love to fight for.

When you were little, did you ever dream of a far off land? A land made up of talking animals, Kings, Queens and magical spells. A world where anything, and everything can happen. A land where people change in the most unexpected ways.
