We Bought A Zoo is based on a true story. It stars Matt Damon who plays Benjamin Mee, a widowed dad trying to get his family back after the loss of his wife. He wants to have a fresh start and ends up buying a struggling zoo. If no one bought it, many animals would have to be destroyed and the zoo would never re open.

I used to be an owner who didn’t brush my pet’s teeth, but my first cat had to have all his teeth removed to save his life. His teeth were causing him health concerns where there was no other option. I never want to experience that again and I now realize the importance of teeth and our pet’s health.

Chipwrecked is the third Chipmunks movie. In this movie, Dave takes the Chipmunks and Chipettes on a family cruise and as is typical for Alvin he finds trouble wherever he goes because he always wants to have fun and doesn’t like following the rules

Arthur Christmas is about how Santa’s son Arthur and his Grandpa set out to deliver a missed present to a little girl in England before Christmas dawn. Santa’s operation has become very high tech with the latest Santa Claus, with the elves doing most of the deliveries and Santa’s son Steve running the operation. Christmas had become more about the success and less about the spirit of the holiday.

Happy Feet Two is the sequel to the original Happy Feet movie. It is about the emperor penguins Julia and Mumble who have become a family. Their son Erik is unsure about dancing so he and his friends run away.

Puss in Boots is a computer-animated movie that tells the cat’s story before the Shrek movies occurred. Just like in the Shrek movies, Puss is voiced by actor Antonio Banderas. The movie shares about how he was in an orphanage as a kitten and became best friends with Humpty Dumpty who was obsessed with finding magic beans.

Irish Setters are one of the most beautiful dogs that I know of, but it is more than just their beauty that makes them such amazing dogs. They are full of energy and are extremely affectionate. Being a family dog is also part of their characteristic. However, they are not the breed for everyone, for these dogs do demand a lot of attention and training. Without enough daily exercise, they can wreak havoc to the household. However, if you have the time to invest Irish Setters are incredible dogs.

On stage now at the Enchanted Playhouse in Visalia is James and the Giant Peach. It is based on a book by Roald Dahl written in 1961.

Dolphin Tale is about a Dolphin named Winter who was injured by a crab trap in the ocean and is found on the beach. The tail ends up having to be removed by the Clearwater Marine Hospital staff in order to save her life. However, her fight for life isn’t over yet because she can’t survive without her tail.

The Smurfs was a popular cartoon when I was a kid and I was excited to see them come out with a current movie. It was a fun introduction to Smurfs for my 2 year old daughter as well. The movie is about how Clumsy Smurf accidentally leads Gargamel into their village. As they try to run away Clumsy Smurf and a few others, including Papa and Smurfette, fall through a portal that is only open on a Blue Moon in which Gargamel and his cat Azrael follow.

The Winnie the Pooh movie is preceded by a short animated film about Nessie. It’s a cute story about the Loch Ness Monster and her best friend MacQuack, who is a rubber duck. Their home in a pond is overtaken by a golf course and so they set out to find a new home. I always enjoy it when they have the short films before the movie. They are a fun addition.

It is very common to hear people commenting about how independent cats are and that you can’t teach anything to them. Yet, how many people have seen the lion acts at the circus. If you can train a lion, how much easier would it be to train the domesticated cat? They are highly intelligent animals and, when you think about it, we insult their abilities to say they are un-traina

Mr. Popper’s Penguins is about businessman Tom Popper whose life is focused around work. He is trying to make a deal to buy the Tavern in the Green in Central Park to have it torn down and if he succeeds he has a promotion in his future.

Hugs is a special, special needs guy. He is blind with cataracts in both eyes. He is young. The vet thinks 2 1/2 - 3 years old. He has a great temperament & gets around great using his other senses. His foster mom says that if she doesn't move anything, once around the house & he has it memorized. Hugs is very loving & affectionate. We think Hugs would make a great therapy dog. His hypoallergenic coat is also a big plus for therapy dogs.Hugs is available through Animal Compassion Team.
