It’s that time of the year where the birthday card comes in from Grandma and Grandpa and the posts of celebratory wishes appear on Facebook. That’s right! This guy just turned the big 19! Now on people’s birthdays, everyone talks about the things that they want. While this bouquet of flowers would be nice to have and this bag would be great on my shoulder (LOL), I want this year to be a year of giving — for everyone. While on the ride home Sunday from a weekend of visiting family, I realized how great I have it in life. Have a roof over my head, food on the table and great family and friends.

There is a one of a kind national organization that combines many volunteers and endless hours of training to provide youth with resources of ending suicide of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and question (LGBTQ) youth community. This great organization, The Trevor Project, was founded by three individuals 13 years ago who did not intentionally set out to become the first and only nationwide, 24/7 crisis and suicide prevention lifeline for LGBTQ youth.

The Rainbow Delegation was started in August of 2010 by a man named Matt Mazzei. Mazzei, founder of the Rainbow Delegation, like others, had a dream of creating support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community; a community which he proudly identifies as part of today. Six months later, the Rainbow Delegation is now known as a popular movement across the Central Valley, and has expanded its presence world wide.
