Reedley High has been full of busy Pirates. These last few months of the school year have been anything but relaxing for students. Students involved in the drama club to student council have had weeks and weekends filled with events to handle. From prom to Powder Puff, Pirates show their dedication in making the last few months of the year the best ones. Seniors are preparing for the June 10th graduation while the rest of the school gets ready for summer break and the fresh start of a new year.

When I look back on my high school career in ten years, I’ll have a lot to remember and appreciate. Although, I already know there is something I do that will provide me with my fondest memories. When I mention to others my age and how I spend most of my weekends, they don’t exactly understand. I’m part of the Reedley River Rats and along with my six band mates, play Dixieland Jazz music for audiences throughout California.

The month of January brought Reedley High students back onto campus after the three-week holiday vacation. The second half of the year is crucial for every grade, especially seniors who are getting ready to “jump ship.”

In this day and age, Christian outreach is a difficult thing to accomplish. At Reedley High School, students prove that they can overcome this difficulty and provide a Christian outlet for students on their campus.

No matter what age you are, it is safe to say that you have heard a song written by Taylor Swift. Through the release of her three albums, the world has been part of Taylor Swift’s growing from a timid 16-year-old who wrote about her admiration of Tim McGraw, into a 20-year-old writing songs about battling the challenges most young adults have.

Lady Antebellum has yet again released a CD that has left their fans wanting more. The country trio released their newest album Need You Now into the country music world in January of 2010. Two singles off the album, “Need You Now”, and “American Honey”, both topped the charts just like “I Run to You” from their previous album. The CD debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts for the week of February 2, 2010, selling 480,922 copies in the first week.
