September was an amazing month for games. Much anticipated sequels arrived and famous game series continued. But unfortunately, the amazing games were overshadowed by the upsetting news that Telltale Games, the developers of award winning games such as The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, are downsizing to only twenty-five employees and then shutting down for good.

We LOVE John and Hank Green here at KRL. We have watched their videos on their YouTube channel vlogbrothers, listened to their podcast Dear Hank and John, read all of John Green’s wonderful books, and attended VidCon several times (which they created).

E3 is gamer heaven. Games that people have only dreamt of will finally be a reality, and the heart beats fast with anticipation of what game announcements may come. E3 is my favorite time of year.

This month only one super exciting game has been released, and because of this, I have taken to trying some older games to pass the time. One of those older games is the popular Stardew Valley, released on February 26, 2016.

This time of year is always a bad time for video games, as developers are gearing up for E3 in June, where the biggest video game announcements are made. However, there is always something to be excited about in the gaming world as new games are released on a daily basis.

I have been a feminist for as long as I can remember. When pastors at church would talk about a wife obeying her husband or the man being the head of household, I never understood why. What makes a man better than a woman? I never bought into the sexist ideals society pushed. So, it was no surprise to anyone that I would want to participate in the Women’s March in Fresno this year.

Jessica’s January Video Game News

2018 is going to be a big year for games. Red Dead Redemption 2, Far Cry 5, Sea of Thieves, and Wolf Among Season 2 are just some of the exciting games coming to players this year. I am overwhelmed by the amount of games I am wanting to play. 2017 is going to be a hard year to beat, but I think developers are up for the challenge. Unfortunately, January is a dead month for video games.

2017 has been a great year for video games. Popular series have been reborn and game stories have become more in depth. The voice actor strike put a damper on the gaming industry this year, but it still managed to produce several brilliant games.
