Cleaning up along the Kings River and boosting the river’s rainbow trout population are projects which are being worked on collaboratively by the Kings River Conservancy (KRC) and the Kings River Fisheries Management Program (KRFMP), along with help from local volunteer groups like the Fresno Fly Fishers for Conservation (FFFC) and the Tenaya Middle School Wildlife Club.

The Sanger Rotary Club’s 34th Annual Jim Craig Memorial Christmas Luncheon to honor the area’s senior citizens recently took place at the Sanger Community Center. In addition to the traditional free holiday lunch, seniors were entertained by Latin pop star Marilyn Fernandez. Santa visited with seniors while assisting with handing out Christmas gifts to winning ticket holders.

With the simple tools of crochet and knitting needles, four volunteers from the Sanger Chat ‘N Sew group have created more than 500 knit caps for boys and men participating in the Teen Challenge of Southern California (TCSC) rehabilitation program.

The City was hopping with artists, their work, and art fans, during Sanger’s third Art Hop of 2012, titled Fall Fun. The most recent Art Hop included seven art viewing venues with more than 20 artists being featured.

The Sanger High School campus was taken over by the color orange and a flash mob dance performance last month as a way to declare an end to bullying, during its first Unity Day event, held in the quad area of the school campus, during the lunch break.
