The Good Dinosaur is the newest Disney/Pixar film. It is about an Apatosaurus dinosaur named Arlo who is afraid of everything and he wants to make his mark on the world like his brother and sister have. However, he finds it difficult to overcome his fears.

Arlo’s father tries to teach him by putting him in charge of catching the creature that is stealing the food they are storing up for the winter. However, after a tragic accident he loses his father. This makes Arlo even more determined to make his mark and prove his bravery but he continues to struggle. Later he sees the creature again and it turns out to be a primitive child who has lost his family. He chases the child and ends up being swept away in a river current and taken far away from home. The child, later named Spot, ends up helping Arlo and they become friends who help each other find their way home. Through their adventure, Arlo learns the true meaning of bravery. movie

Anytime I see a new film by Pixar I always have to go see it and The Good Dinosaur lives up to the Pixar name. I am amazed by the animation. At first I couldn’t tell whether it was real or animated, they improve the effects with each movie. I was swept away with the scenery before the story even began. Even my daughter was amazed how real everything looked. I like how the story line is interesting enough to entertain adults and children though I think some of this story went over the head of my seven-year-old, but she still really enjoyed it. I thought it to be a bit unusual that the child acted more like a dog then a human, but the character was well done and I learned to like the boy named Spot and the unique friendship between him and the dinosaur. The Good Dinosaur is definitely a movie you don’t want to miss.

The Good Dinosaur is currently playing at Dinuba Platinum Theatres 6. Showtimes can be found on their website. Platinum Theaters Dinuba 6 now proudly presents digital quality films in 2-D and 3-D with 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound to maximize your movie experience.
