Merry Christmas, Rescue Alaska!
Kathi Daley has taken fans to Alaska garnering four and five star ratings for Harmony Carson and the residents of Rescue. She has woven just the right amount of paranormal into the storyline which is very intriguing and entertaining; it all fits well. Harmony has a gift to connect with people who are in danger or injured making her excellently suited as a member of a search and rescue team. At the beginning in “Finding Justice” (2017), we learn about her parents’ tragic accident and her sister becoming her guardian. Life seems to be improving until her sister goes missing, and shockingly Harmony catches a mental glimpse sharing difficult emotions from her injured sister. The rescue team goes into action, but unfortunately it doesn’t end well. The gift, however, remained and has strengthened to include stronger visions and connections with people beyond the victim. Along with engaging mysteries and endearing relationships she includes many interactions with “fur” friends making her series a favorite for animal lovers.

Finding Christmas earns 5/5 Santas…Engaging, Entertaining, Fun!

mysterySanta has gone missing! Nick Clauston may enjoy dressing up in his red suit for the Santa Festival in a nearby Tinseltown, but his early onset dementia puts his daughter in distress when she finds him missing. Calling the police sets the search and rescue team into motion and Harmony trying to connect with the victim. But, it’s difficult to get a sense; instead she sees a long beard, hay, and a sleigh…a very interesting way to start out. But, the intriguing conclusion to missing Nick leads to another more tragic occurrence. Six longtime buddies. One missing. Several other guests staying at the hotel. Harmony getting curious visions. Secrets. Lies. Murder.

I love a little paranormal twist in my cozy, and Kathi has me hooked on her Rescue Alaska Mysteries. Harmony is a well-developed character and her gift offers an engaging way to lay out events, setting up the suspense, and just plain fun. I always enjoy the “I” perspective Kathi pens putting readers vicariously in the middle of the investigation and sharing Harmony’s inner thoughts along with personality. The mystery is really engaging with twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Along with the mystery unfolding Christmas decorating, festivities, and gatherings always take a bit of the center stage. Animal lovers will love the plethora of animals from a Homer the blind mule to rabbits, dogs of all talents and personalities, a new puppy, and five new kittens. Kathi always takes us into the care, feeding, and training of the animals. She also includes a few insights animal owners undoubtedly understand.
