The holiday season for video games is like the summer is for movies, it is a big deal and what the industry spends all of their time preparing for. The holidays are stressful not just for the video game industry, but for those buying gifts for their loved ones. So here is a guide on what games to buy them for Christmas.
Red Dead Redemption 2 released on October 26 and has been a smash hit ever since. This is the a perfect game for the Western lover in the family and for those who love long games with many, many side quests. This will keep them busy all of the next year until it is time for gift giving once more.
Fallout 76 released on November 14. Fallout is one of the most popular gaming series of all time. The game play style is unique and the environment is gorgeous yet terrifying at the same time. This new game features online gameplay beyond what any fan of the series could imagine. Get this game for anyone who loves the series and for those who love online multiplayer.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate releases on the Switch on December 7. Several new characters have been announced and the game is one of the most highly anticipated of the year. For anyone who has ever loved a Nintendo game, this is the game for you.
Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee or Pikachu released on November 16. The game incorporates the many things people loved about Pokemon Go and expands upon that. Anyone who loves Pokemon will love this game.
And now for my personal favorite, Life is Strange 2. While it does not have a physical disc yet, buying the season pass for this game will make your loved one able to play each episode as it comes out. The sequel to my favorite series is as great as I hoped it would be. It will make the perfect gift for anyone who loves the series or anyone who enjoys story rich and choice based games.
There are so many games to choose from as holiday gifts, but these games I mentioned are bound to make the gamers in your life very happy.
