FBR always stands behind our dogs, and when a dog is adopted we are ready with open arms should they need to come back to us. Peaches is one of those dogs, and is proof that third time is a charm!

The original e-mail we received was in 2012 for a large male we later named Walter, and when we arrived to pick Walter up, there sat the cutest little blue-and-white gal, who we eventually named Peaches. No one knew where she had come from, but we learned from the neighborhood folks that she had been looking after Walter for weeks when he had been ignored and neglected. Peaches would wander through the neighborhood, scavenging for food, and would return to share with Walter. How could we leave this sweet, petite orphan behind?

Peaches

Peaches wasn’t at the shelter long before someone fell head over heels for her, and she went to what we thought would be a forever home. Unfortunately within two years, after a work promotion, her family had to move to a location that currently has BSL (Breed Specific Legislation). This means that Pitbulls are banned in the county, and Peaches was not welcome and would have to return to our shelter. Within a month she was off again living the good life in the Sierra Mountains with a new brother, Cooper (also an FBR pup). Again, poor Peaches was hit with more bad luck. This past year her family could no longer care for her and she was again sent back to us, along with Cooper. Cooper is available for adoption.fresno bully

From the minute she entered the shelter she became a favorite with one of the Elite staff at FBR. But then again how could anyone not fall in love with Peaches? All she wants is to be near her humans, cuddle, and lazily play with her toys. The recent heat wave has been tough on Peaches and when there was an offer to take her home for an overnight stay to escape it we agreed. Needless to say she hasn’t come back and her adoption was finalized last week. She even has a couple of cat sisters to keep her company.fresno bully

Third time is definitely a charm for the sweet little blue and white girl. She is spending her days cuddling on the couch and hanging out by the pool with a loving family to look after her now.

  10. What a beautiful pair! It is so sad that Peaches’ original community decided to adopt BSL. The pitbulls that I’ve known have all been very sweet. I’m glad that, at the very least, Peaches has found a loving foster home. I hope that her forever home comes along soon!

  12. It’s nice that she’s found a new home, I hope it’s permanent this time. But I’m curious with “Breed Specific Legislation”, what’s that supposed to mean? And why do they have that? Pls enlighten me. Thanks!
