Inside Out is an animated Disney/Pixar film about a young girl, Riley, and how she and her family had to move from Minnesota because her dad got a job in San Francisco. Riley is a happy girl who loved her life in Minnesota but the move changes that because she misses her old home and friends.

Now her emotions, Sadness, Joy, Anger, Disgust, and Fear live inside her mind at headquarters. Joy, who is considered the most important emotion, tries to keep Riley happy during this difficult move but the other emotions start to disagree with her on how to handle this change. During this time, there is an accident that causes Joy and Sadness to go on a quest to return Riley’s core happy memories to their place before it’s too late. On their travels through her memories, they meet Riley’s imaginary friend Bing Bong who joins them in their quest. During Sadness and Joy’s adventure the rest of the emotions take over and wreak havoc in Riley’s life and they need Joy and Sadness to return to get things back to normal before it’s too late.

I always am excited when I see a new Pixar/Disney movie coming out and they never disappoint. Inside Out is a very unique and clever story like nothing I have ever seen before. It’s funny and shares a moral about how all our emotions have a place in a person’s life. Sadness reminded me a lot of Eeyore for she seems always gloomy yet always has clever ideas. I like how the movie goes from what is happening in Riley’s life with the move and then to her emotions and the world that is happening inside her head. There were two seemingly separate story lines that intertwined with each other throughout the movie. Inside out is by far my favorite movie I have seen so far this year. This is a movie that you will not want to miss.
