It’s late April and some parts of the country are getting floods, snow, and even fire. Let’s hope things settle down in May. Meanwhile, wait it out with these titles from favorite authors.

Over in Pennsylvania’s Amish country, the locals are getting ready for tourists arriving for a weekend quilting event. Daisy Swanson and her aunt are anticipating a rush to their tea shop. However, when a man dating one of the teahouse’s employees is found dead near a covered bridge, the worker is the obvious suspect. Daisy needs to put down the teacups and find out who really did the Murder with Cinnamon Scones. Includes delicious recipes!

In the fourth installment of Nancy McGovern’s Comfort Cakes Cozy Mysteries, Rachel Rowen gets a chance to serve as a judge for a baking contest. However, when a murder occurs and one of the contestants is suspected of being the killer, Rachel has to prove the half-baked theory wrong before the killer rises again.

diva cooks up astorm mysteryThe Diva is on her eleventh outing in the Domestic Diva series penned by Krista Davis. Pop-up gourmet dinner parties are all the rage and hip hostess Sophie Winston can’t wait to get in on the action. But it’s not all fun and food when a diner brings his trophy wife to the event his son and ex are also attending. By the end of the dinner, he’s dead and Sophie’s amateur detective skills kick in as The Diva Cooks Up a Storm. Includes delicious recipes and entertaining tips!

book coverIt’s also Claws for Alarm at the Gray Whale Inn on Cranberry Island in Maine. Natalie Barnes is hosting a yoga retreat at her inn, but the dietary restrictions, flaring tempers, and finicky guests make it a non-Zen event. On top of that, a new arrival has a vision of changing the quaint island into something you’d find in Coastal Living. When he’s found dead next to the lobster co-op, Natalie’s best friend is trapped as the prime suspect. This is the eighth Cranberry Cove outing by author Karen MacInerney.

book coverOn the other coast is Northwest Cozy seventh from Dianne Harman. While her usual protagonist DeeDee Wilson and P.I. Jake are away from the private investigation firm, retired mobster Al De Duco is holding down the fort. When a well-loved woman is offed, it’s not the usual suspects. Her ex wanted to reconcile, his former finance would rather he not, the chef she broke up with, a salesman who fell in love with her, and a brother-in-law with ties to the Mafia. Al, his food critic bride, and his Doberman Pinscher have their hands and paws full with Murder on the Waterfront.

book coverEverything’s bigger in Texas—even Political Dirty Tricks. Ron Drake is a shoo-in as the next governor, but his opponent thinks that can be changed. However, Drake is too straight a shooter to dig any dirt on. The next step is murder and attempted murders. Drake’s friend, Crystal Moore, vows to root out the bad guys which puts her right in their crosshairs. This is the latest of James Callan’s Crystal Moore series.

bookFrom the largest lower forty-eight state to the largest state in the union, we travel to Alaska for the second Rescue Alaska mystery by Kathi Daley. Rescue Alaska is a small town that attracts hikers and skiers. Harmony Carson has lived there all her life and is part of the search and rescue team. She’s got a unique gift of being able to “see” the people she’s meant to help as well as feel their fear and pain. When not out rescuing people, Harmony works in the Neverland, a bar owned by her brother-in-law. She also volunteers at the local animal shelter and brings her work home with her: six dogs, four cats, six kittens, eight rabbits, and a blind mule named Homer. Out searching for a four-year-old missing boy, they find the body of an important resident of the town and a second community member missing. It’s tough Finding Answers.

  3. The books I would like to win are murder with cinnamon and scones. I do have murder with lemon and tea cakes ? it’s going to be my next read. Also diva cooks up a storm I have read all the books in this series.Beyond the pale sounds interesting, and grabbed me from the excerpt. And of course flower and foul play, Amanda flowers ? always out does herself in her writing. And I have to be honest I have not read the cake series by Nancy McGovern.Nor have a read Karen Mac Inerney books in the above series. I do have a couple of books in this series on my tbr list but have not read them yet.
    I hope I get a chance to win these books,but if not thank you for the opportunity to enter. But it would be pretty awesome to win a Amanda Flower book. ?
