Marmaduke is a seven-year-old blue American Staffordshire Terrier who has been with Valley Animal Center since November of 2016. Though Marmaduke was adopted in 2017, he was returned four days later at the adoptee’s discretion. Due to his friendly nature and contagious smile, Marmaduke has been a staff favorite since the beginning.

It’s important to remember that when adopting a new dog, it may take more than just a few days for the animal to adjust to its new surroundings. We recommend giving your new pet at least a few weeks to become acclimated to your environment. Despite his past, Marmaduke has kept a positive attitude and energy while at Valley Animal Center.

Marmaduke was rescued from a high euthanization shelter in Los Angeles, where he spent over a year. One of his seemingly noticeable problem is his cropped ears, a practice that can sometimes cause health problems if not done properly. Though he has no lasting issues as a result of this, he should be treated with care. Marmaduke was surrendered to Valley Animal Center nearly three years ago, and he’s been hoping to find his forever home ever since.

Marmaduke would be an excellent pairing with an active and attentive owner. He is a special dog that needs special care; his future owner should be willing to spend about $200 a month on the care of this furry friend. Due to his allergies, Marmaduke requires a specific diet and needs to go to a home with synthetic grass. He would thrive in a home without children or other animals. He has an incredibly loveable and playful personality and would make the perfect hiking partner.

Like all of our adoptable animals, Marmaduke has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. For the entire month of April, the adult dog adoption fee is just $125, and the adult cat adoption fee is $50. Topical Flea Products are $2 off during this time, as well. If you would like more information about Marmaduke or any of our other adoptable animals, please call the Valley Animal Center at (559) 233-8690 or stop by the Dog Adoption Center, open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
