The 2017 Rogue Festival is almost here. KRL will be featuring several Rogue Performer Preview articles over the next few weeks, and a preview article on this year’s Rogue Festival as well.
We will also be reviewing many of the shows once the Festival begins the beginning of March, and we may even do some more video interviews. Check out our Rogue Performer event page for more information as it becomes available, and you can also check out the Rogue 2017 website.
I’m a Musician; Do you Want Fries with That
Narrative and live musical performance
Written and Performed by Tony Imperatrice
So, what is it like to be a professional musician? What is it like growing up studying to be a classical pianist? Do parents ever really support there children’s life choices? And, what exactly IS a real job? I will explore these questions, and many more, in my new show I’m a Musician; Do you Want Fries with That. At each performance you will enjoy humorous stories from my many varied life experiences and you will get to hear and see me performing some amazing music.
As a child I was the odd kid at school. As a lover of classical music, I was treated to many wedgies, purple nurples, and toilet swirlies. As a teenager I started getting interested in popular music much to the dismay of my parents. As a young adult I performed with several rock bands. But, it was at a church that I found my first real musical success. However, me and church were not always the best match, so, I eventually found an unconventional path to musical success.
Throughout my professional musician adventure, I have had many ups and downs and often found myself in a sole crushing non-music job. Being an artist, in our society, is difficult at best. But, with the support of my wife and my wonderful collection of eclectic friends I have persevered. Along the way I have had many hysterical missteps and I am happy to share them with all of you. So, come see I’m a Musician; Do you Want Fries with That. You will enjoy laughter, some great music, and have a joyous and thought provoking good time.
