Details at the end of this post on how to enter to win copies of Death By Committee by Alexis Morgan and Dead as a Door Knocker by Diane Kelly-all from past Coming Attractions columns.

February is for lovers, no matter if it’s for a sweetheart or sweets. This month I introduce a new series by Victoria Hamilton and mysteries with weddings, a tulip-digging dog, lobster for a romantic dinner, and two “pie” mysteries. Enjoy!

mystery book coverVictoria Hamilton, author of the Merry Muffin mysteries and Vintage Kitchen mysteries, is starting a new series. Set in Regency London, the city and spinster Emmeline St. Germain is shocked by the bloody murder of Sir Henry Claybourne. Just hours before his death, she’d pulled a dagger and threatened him while saving a maid he’d bought for “unseemly” purpose. Afraid someone saw her, she must solve the crime or face the hangman’s noose. A Gentlewoman’s Guide to Murder is a handbook we all need!

mysteryWhen dog trainer Lilly Echosby relocates to Chattanooga, she moves into a rental with her toy poodle Aggie (named after Agatha Christie). Her cranky neighbor complains about Aggie’s barking and digging up his prize tulips. But the pup digs up more than that. There’s a body in the flower bed. The Puppy Who Knew Too Much is the second in the Dog Club Mysteries by V.M. Burns.

mysteryGoing out for lobster is romantic, and people are flocking to The Lazy Mermaid at Mystic Bay. It’s not just for the food but also a glimpse of a huge lobster dubbed Lobzilla. He’s a social media darling and ballerina-on-the-mend Allie Larkin and her aunt have more customers than they can handle. When a posh restaurant is burglarized, Allie steps in to help the investigation. While she’s not minding the Mermaid, Lobzilla escapes his tank. Drawn and Buttered is the third Lobster Shack Mystery from Shari Randall.

mysteryIt’s a beachfront wedding in Charm, North Carolina, and Everly Swan is excited to cater her friend’s special day. It’s also great PR for her new restaurant, Seaside Café. But when the wealthy groom is found doing the Dead Man’s Float in the surf, the locals believe the new widow is a fortune hunter. Everly knows her friend couldn’t have done it, but which wedding guest did the deed? No Good Tea Goes Unpunished is Bree Baker’s second of her Seaside Café Mysteries.

mysteryIt’s not wedding cake this time, but pie. In the California coastal town of San Nicholas, Valentine Harris has seen a slowdown in her bakery, Pie Town. When a reality cooking show steps in and wants to change the restaurant for filming, Val is torn between the great publicity and putting up with the show’s nasty bakery chef. Murder steals the spotlight when the show’s producer is pushed to her death. Val and her elderly pie crust expert must follow the crumbs to find a killer, even with the cameras still rolling. Kirsten Weiss gives us Pie Hard, Pie Town Mystery #3.
